This is a classic hat knit in the round from the bottom up. For Child–Adult Large sizes you'll use 16" circulars until about halfway through decreasing, then switch to double pointed needles or longer circulars and the magic loop method to finish the decreasing. The Newborn and Baby sizes are so small you have to use DPNs or magic loop for the whole hat.
